I wish Easy jet still flew from Stansted to Newcastle, could do a job up North and be back for supper, no more, its back in the car for the long drive but there always silver linings, the A68 what a lovely driving road and Northumberland looks so good at this time of year. Any way some frames from up North, West and south.
Not much to say about this one, lovely garden, lovey chap and lovely cups of tea and all manner of little things to eat.
God these garden shoots, you forget them, they nearly always shot a year before so when they go to press the right flowers are out, this was a great morning getting there for 1st light, I knew I need a little help from the big soft box in the sky and I got what I wanted page 4 of the issuu article long grasses with sun raising, top shot in my book. Anyway hope you enjoy them here on in the magazine.
I have posted about this Western Scottish Island before, these are some personal shots I did on my last working trip there. I do love Scotland, its just don’t get there as much as would love to, mind you, when you don’t go somewhere for a while it makes being there even more special when you do.
Trying to run a renovation project and get out to take pictures is proving quite difficult but so the blog is a good reason to make me do it.
Whilst I was in Scotland I shot these few B&W’s, just love being out in the Scottish Islands, use come up very year and shoot with a 5″x4″ and a pack of Polaroid 55 nothing like it as far as aim concerned. you see more of them here .

Gods own theme park, well that’s the only way to describe Scotland in my view and the Island are like the VIP areas. Just back from 4 great days on Colonsay, I was there a year ago shooting for the marketing of the island, this year I was back just for the island. We stayed at Baleromindubh Cottage which has a panorama of Jura, Islay and Scarba out of all the window on one side of the cottage. Have you not been yet, where have you been all of this time…. take a look at their Colonsay Estate
This is the wide’s TV you will ever see and its free 24/7, the sun was going down at 10.30pm when we where there and with nothing in the way, you still see the sun right to the end, for me its just like being in India which does just the same into the sea, it warm your heart and makes all those work days worth it.

Someone little castle left on the rocks.
For more of what I have shot on Colonsay and a look at their fab hotel, take a look at the portfolio below.
Garden are always a nice surprise, you shoot them, sometimes a year or so a head because of flowering times and then one day you open a mag and there it is. Then you start to look at it as the wonderful place it is and because at the time of shoot your head is full of photographic technical things that never really let you see your images for what they really are.
I had the pleasure of spending 3 days on Colonsay and this is the 1st shoot to be publish.
You can see more of my work of Colonsay all of which is 1st world rights at the moment, so if you see something you like please get in contact. ray@raymain.co.uk
